William “Bear” Fisher, 68, of Harvard passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 2, 2021.
He was born May 26, 1952, to Louis B. and Gladys (Baumann) Fisher.
After graduating high school, Bear went to work for Hettland & Cookout of Lake Geneva doing bodywork. He then went to work at Burkhart Chevrolet in Harvard in their body shop. After years of bodywork, Bear went to work for a Glass company in Crystal Lake installing windshields.
Bear is best known as half-owner of B&H Tap in Harvard. Where he had become one of the best dart players in Northern Illinois. Also sponsored numerous softball teams thru out the years. After years at the tavern, Bear moved careers again to become the manager of the DMV in Woodstock from which he retired.
Throughout Bear's life, he made a lot of friends and had an impact on everyone he ever crossed paths with.
Survivors include his brother Larry (Mari) Fisher, niece and nephews Neil (Elizabeth) and Cole Fisher, Jolene (Alan) Buxman; Caregiver and close friends Leslie Ingersoll and lifelong friends Tom Thomas and Terry McEnany; and faithful furry companion Wolfgang III.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St. Harvard, IL 60033. Memorial services will follow at 7 p.m. Inurnment will be private in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Harvard, IL.
