Wayne I. Mikus

Wayne I. Mikus, 75, of Harvard, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Crystal Lake.

Wayne was born August 2, 1949, to Irving and Elaine (Peterson) Mikus in Menominee, MI, however, he was raised by his grandparents Alfred and Anna Peterson. He married Beverly Hawver on September 30, 1977, in Harvard.  Wayne delivered Deans Milk for many years in northern Illinois and the Chicago area and also was a maintenance technician for 20 years at Harvard Memorial Hospital.

He was a loyal Cubs and Packers fan.  He loved keeping his yard and home pristine.  

Wayne was the loving husband of Beverly Mikus of Harvard, devoted step-father of Russell (Donna) Wells of Huntley, IL, Peggie (John) Campbell of Huntley, IL, and Tina (Jeff) Pflum of McHenry, IL, beloved grandpa to Abbi (Larry) Hanson and Amber (Russell) Matthes, and great-grandpa to Jacob, Lylah, Kash, Benjamen, Brendan, Haylee, Lukas, and Jayce, and Wayne’s loyal companion, Daisy.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Irving and Elaine, grandparents Alfred and Anna, and his aunt Mary Scammell.

Wayne’s family will be holding a private celebration of life to commemorate him.
