Veronica Castañeda Nova, de 12 años, de Harvard, Illinois, fue recibida en el Reino de Dios el martes 21 de abril de 2026. Nació el 31 de julio de 2013 en Woodstock, Illinois, y fue la querida hija de Maximino Castañeda y Veronica Nova, siendo la menor de seis hijos.
Veronica era una niña amorosa, amable y respetuosa, cuyo espíritu alegre se reflejaba en su gran y hermosa sonrisa. Tenía una personalidad única y expresiva, y a menudo compartía su creatividad a través de la ropa que usaba y los dibujos que realizaba. Disfrutaba del anime y tenía un gran amor por los animales, especialmente los gatos y los conejillos de Indias.
Profundamente querida por su familia, Veronica era conocida cariñosamente como la “Princesa de la Casa”, reflejando el lugar tan especial que ocupaba en el corazón de quienes la amaban.
A Veronica le sobreviven sus amorosos padres, Maximino Castañeda y Veronica Nova; sus hermanos, Adolfo, José, Roberto y Richard Castañeda; su hermana, Jennifer Castañeda (Omar Lara); su abuela, Carmela Castañeda; su abuelo, José Nova; su tía, Laura Nova; sus tíos, Juan Carlos y Joel Nova, y José y Mario Castañeda; así como muchos primos. En el Cielo, se reúne con su abuela Felicitas Rivera y su abuelo Guillermo Castañeda.
La velación se llevará a cabo el miércoles 29 de abril de 2026, de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., en Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL, 60033. La Misa funeral se celebrará el jueves 30 de abril de 2026 a las 10:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica St. Joseph, 206 E. Front St., Harvard, IL, 60033. El entierro se llevará a cabo posteriormente en el Cementerio Católico St. Joseph en Harvard.
Veronica Castañeda Nova, age 12, of Harvard, Illinois, was welcomed into God’s Kingdom on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Born on July 31, 2013, in Woodstock, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of Maximino Castañeda and Veronica Nova, and the youngest of six children.
Veronica was a loving, kind, and respectful girl whose joyful spirit shone through her big, beautiful smile. She had a unique and expressive personality, often sharing her creativity through the clothes she wore and the drawings she created. She enjoyed anime and had a special love for animals, especially cats and guinea pigs.
Cherished deeply by her family, Veronica was affectionately known as the “Princess of the House,” a reflection of the special place she held in the hearts of those who loved her.
Veronica is survived by her loving parents, Maximino Castañeda and Veronica Nova; brothers, Adolfo, José, Roberto, and Richard Castañeda; sister, Jennifer (Omar Lara) Castañeda; grandmother, Carmela Castañeda; grandfather, José Nova; aunt, Laura Nova; uncles, Juan Carlos and Joel Nova, and José and Mario Castañeda; as well as many cousins. In Heaven, she is reunited with her grandmother Felicitas Rivera and grandfather Guillermo Castañeda.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W Sumner St., Harvard, IL, 60033. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 206 E Front St., Harvard, IL, 60033. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Harvard.
