Thomas E. Platt

Thomas E. Platt, 77, of Marengo, Illinois passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Tom was born on April 13, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Eugene and Grace (Callahan) Platt. He married Geraldine Podjasek on May 12, 1967, in Germany. Tom proudly served in the Army. He was a union electrician in the IBEW Local 134 for 36 years, and enjoyed farming, tractors, skeet shooting, and more than anything, time with his family.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Geri; his children Kimberly (Mark) Neville, James (Michelle) Platt; his grandchildren Benjamin Platt, Maxwell (Shiyao Sun) Neville, Mary Grace Neville, William Platt, and Allison Kratz; and his great-grandchild Cole Platt.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Grace Platt, and his brother and best friend, Ronald Platt.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 10 AM until the 12 PM memorial service at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, Illinois 60033.
