Tammy M. Isom

Tammy M. Isom, 66, of Harvard, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 6, 2026. She was born on June 19, 1960, in Hastings, Michigan, to Irven and Joanne (Erb) Lockwood. Tammy was united in marriage with Donald G. Isom on June 10, 1989, in Harvard. Tammy’s kindness and nurturing spirit led her to open her home as a daycare center in Harvard, where she was beloved by many. She was integral in bringing the AFS Study Abroad Program to Harvard High School and personally welcomed many students into her own home. Tammy was also deeply involved with the Girl Scouts, helping the local program grow and flourish throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, creating opportunities and memories for countless girls in the community.

Tammy is survived by her daughter, Brandy Salonga of Rockton, IL; five grandchildren, Jazmin, Amaya, Jeffrey, Michael, and Adelynne; all of her AFS children; father, Irven Lockwood of Harvard; sister, Sandy Shelnut of Harvard; brother, David Lockwood of Aston, PA; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Isom; and mother, Joanne Lockwood.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 4PM until 8PM at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL, 60033. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday, August 22, from 10AM until 12PM noon, at which time a celebration of life will be held.
