Stephen Redding Obituary

Stephen R. Redding, 82, of Harvard, IL passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Stephen was born on August 14, 1942, in Woodstock, IL the son of Edward and Agnus (Dalziel) Redding. He married the love of his life, Janice A. Stevens, on December 3, 1966, at Judge Charles Smith’s house in Woodstock, IL.

Stephen was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and a founding member of the Harvard High School wrestling team. He was a member of the Harvard Rescue squad and a DSA Award recipient in 1973. Stephen enjoyed life on the farm. More than anything, Stephen enjoyed his time spent with loved ones.

Stephen is survived by his beloved wife Janice; children Stephanie (Tom) Wottreng of Paw Paw, MI, Kristie (Todd) Streit of Poplar Grove, IL, Lindsey (Todd) McCullough of Gilbert, SC, and Alicia (Freddy) Flores of Sharon, WI; his grandchildren Matthew (Megan) Streit, Sabrina (Matthew) Kahle, Taylor (Austin) Bielski, Monica Flores, Kenzi McCullough, Isabella Flores, Wyatt McCullough, and Sofia Flores; and his great-grandchildren Tennley Streit, Audrey Streit, Fowler Bielski, Dillon Kahle, Dutton Bielski, and Everly Streit.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Agnus, his siblings Edward and Ruth Redding, and his infant son Brian Mathew.

Stephen will be sadly missed by his treasured family.

Visitation will be from 2 until 5 PM on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.
