Sharon Lee Kazort, 74, of Harvard, died Saturday, April 13 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Sharon was born August 26, 1949 to Robert and Mary Louise (Sjostrom) Eucker in Beloit, WI. She married William E. Kazort on June 14, 1969 in Capron, IL.
Sharon went to nursing school at Lutheran General in Park Ridge and started at St. Joe’s in Belvidere in labor and delivery. Then she went onto Kishwaukee Medical working in pediatrics, the cardiac floor at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, and then retired in 2014 from Rockford Surgical Services.
While in high school, Sharon was involved in choir and band, and one year she played the trombone in a musical at the Harvard High School. Afterwards, she was still involved playing in the orchestra with the school. Sharon belonged to 4H and was a Mary Kay consultant in her free time. She loved watching her grandson compete in taekwondo and baseball, vacations with her husband, hanging out and singing karaoke with her daughters, playing cards with friends, and playing the organ.
Survivors include her husband William Kazort of Harvard, daughters Kimberly (Michael) Saputo of Delavan, WI and Krista (Jim) Fillmore of Marengo, grandson Jordan Saputo, and siblings Ron (Theresa) Eucker, Tricia Ploch, and Jodi (John) Meade of Mazomanie, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary Louise Eucker and sister Deanna Doty.
There will be a visitation from 4 – 8 PM Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033. The funeral service will be at 11 AM Friday, April 19 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family which will be given to a charity that will be determined.
