Scott J. Creviston

Scott Joseph Creviston (Buck), age 63, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Capron IL on August 18, 2026.

Scott was born on December 17, 1962 in Harvard, Illinois to Shelby (Jacobson) and Wayne Creviston. He graduated from Harvard High School with the Class of 1981

In his younger years, Scott loved bowling was an avid sportsman who found great joy in hunting and fishing. He loved being outdoors and appreciated the peace, beauty, and adventure that came with spending time in nature. He occasionally would enjoy Budweiser and Copenhagen

As the years went by, Scott's love for animals became an especially meaningful part of his life. He earned the affectionate nickname "animal whisperer" as he developed a special connection with the creatures around him. He enjoyed watching and feeding squirrels, chipmunks, and birds, and he had a soft spot for stray cats. Many of those cats found their way into Scott's heart-and eventually into his home, where they became his own, including "PK" and "Mabel Kitty".

Throughout his life, Scott worked in many different roles, he worked as a meat cutter at Marengo Packing; doing drywall and went on to process deer and cater many events with Garry Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Herman and Gladys Jacobson and John and Mabel Creviston; and beloved feline friends, Grandma Kitty, Great-Grandma Kitty, and Sammy Kitty. 

Scott is survived by his brother Steve (Jeanine) Creviston of Harvard; his sister Lori (Danny Mitchell of East Tawas, MI; nephews Eric Creviston; Matthew (Kari) Creviston and niece Jaclyn (Wayne) Jesionowski of Harvard; and great-nieces/nephews, Taryn, Landon Jesionowski and Lincoln, Scarlett and Stevie Marie Creviston; his best friend Garry Johnson of Capron; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Dunham-Chemung Cemetery in Chemung, IL. Rev. Todd Weilgos of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Harvard will officiate.  A luncheon will follow at the Lion's Club Building in Capron, IL. Memorials may be made to the family

Though his passing was unexpected, the memories Scott leaves behind will remain with those who knew and loved him, He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
