Ruth (Gumprecht) Greenlee

Ruth Greenlee, 92, died Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at The Colonial Home in Doniphan, MO.  She was born October 27, 1929, in Crystal Lake, IL to Henry and Ila (Townsend) Gumprecht.  She married James Greenlee on October 2, 1948; they spent many years together until his death on June 23, 2013.

Ruth enjoyed many hobbies in life, she liked to craft, knit, play games and cards. She was a leader of a Girl Scout troop, and loved travelling, especially to her winter home in Florida. Above all, Ruth looked forward to family time.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Harold) Vierck, Donald (Trudy) Greenlee, Kenneth (Peggy) Greenlee, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ila Gumprecht, husband James Greenlee, grandson Matthew Greenlee, and five siblings.

Visitation will be at 10am-11 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. service, on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022 at First United Methodist Church, 1100 N Division St. Harvard, IL.
