Ronald M Seeley

Ron Seeley, 86, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday June 2, 2023.

Ron was born on May 23,1937 in Terre Haute, Indiana. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacology from the University of Illinois in Chicago.

Ron and his wife, Diane, moved their young family to Harvard in 1966, where Ron purchased a local pharmacy on Ayer Street in downtown Harvard.  He served his community for 42 years.  His philosophy was that the customers were very important to him.  The services offered were centered first and foremost around the needs of the community.  Ron was an active member with the Lion’s Club, Harvard Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise Club, served on the Board of Directors of Harvard Savings and Loan and multiple other organizations.  He most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends playing cards, golfing, reading, and fishing.  Ron loved to travel and especially loved his trips with friends and family to Boundary Waters, MN. 

Ron is survived his partner Linda Keown, his children, Brenda (Paul) Moore of Naperville, IL, Thomas (Lori) Seeley of Channahon, IL, Robert (Julie) Seeley of Seaford, DE, and Mark Seeley (Laura) of Cincinnati, OH, his grandchildren, Shannon, David, Brian, Jennifer, Kristine, Taryn, Quinten, Brant, Danny, Aubrey, Ryan, Connor, Caroline, and Leah, his great grandchildren, Sienna, Rachel, Lila, Violet, Madison, Ben, Sadie, Penny, and one more on the way, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Diane, his father, John Seeley, mother Martha Seeley, and brother John Seeley, Jr.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 4-7 PM, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner Street in Harvard, IL. Visitation will also be held from 9 – 10 AM on Friday, June 9 at Saunders & McFarlin. The Mass celebrating Ron’s life will be conducted at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 206 E. Front Street, Harvard, IL at 10:30 AM, on Friday, June 9, 2023, with Father Paul White officiating.
