Obituary
Robert D. Ira, 81, of Harvard passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at home. Robert was born on June 19, 1941 in Bedford, Indiana, the son of Morrell and Evelyn (Jones) Ira. Robert married Carole Jean Holland on July 23, 1969 in Harvard, Illinois. He was a factory worker at Evans Products, a supervisor at Precision Quincy Ovens, and spent his retirement years working at Chuck E. Cheese. Robert was also a HAM radio operator enthusiast.
Robert is survived by his daughters Michele Hilgendorf of Harvard and Melody (Brian) Kaspari of Cary, his granddaughter Makayla F. Hilgendorf, and his siblings Maria DeMoss of Woodstock, Cynthia (Joe) White of Minooka, IL, Sue Vogt of Delavan, WI, Mike (Jodi) Thornburgh of Wonder Lake, and Elizabeth Thornburgh of Russellville, IN.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carole, his parents, and sisters Marilyn Thornton and Sondra (Earl) Ridgway.
Per Robert’s wishes, he will be cremated with a private family burial.
