Robert Camren Sr.

Robert Matthew Camren Sr., 78, of Capron, IL, died May 8, 2023 at Javon Bea in Rockford. Robert was born January 11, 1945, the son of Jacob and Grace (Mallernee) Camren in Decatur, IL.

He served in the Marines and previously worked for Cary Ready Mix and was a long-time employee of Cotter True Value and O’Reilly’s.

In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his yard, playing cards, drinking coffee, and reading western books. 

He is survived by his long-time partner Ruthann Vest, his children Bob Jr. (Jeanny) Camren of Dickson, TN, Brad (Lisa) Camren of Sharon, WI, Becky and Beth (Cameron Cogar) Camren of Delavan, WI, and Tyler (Shelby) Frizzo of Decatur, IL, his grandchildren Alex, Quintin, Makenzie, Jacob, Cheyenne, Faith, and Emily.

He is also survived by his brother John (Barb) Camren of Sullivan, IL, sister-in-law Sharon Turner of Woodstock, IL, mother of his children Barb Camren of Delavan, WI, nephew Mike Tate of Elgin, IL, and extended Vest family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ricky, mother-in-law Zelda Turner, brother-in-law Terry Fleshman, sister-in-law Mellie Tate, and other relatives.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10 AM until the 12 PM service on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.

Inurnment will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Harvard.
