Richard (Dick) T. Rowe Sr.

Richard T. Rowe Sr, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 26, 2021 at PA Peterson of the Citadel of Rockford.

Born Nov 7, 1939, in Whitewater, WI. He was the son of William D. and Helen (nee Dutcher) Rowe.

Dick married Roberta Stardy in February of 1958. He later married Barabra Bannwolf on November 15, 1969, in Harvard, IL.

He was an auto technician his entire adult life starting at Harvard Ford and ending at Fran Kial upon retirement. He also had his own garage Dick’s Repair. He was a flight instructor, enjoyed going to the EAA Fly In and flying his airplane. He enjoyed his yearly vacations with family and his Grandpa Day with the grandkids.

Dick is survived by his children Richard T. Rowe, Jr., Debra Pagel, Kimberly Rowe (John) Samborski; 7 grandchildren, Steven, Tom, Nathan, Eric, Holly, Johnny, and Julia; 3 great-grandchildren Megan, Trevor, and Kyli; brothers Jack and Jerome Rowe; brother-in-law Mike (Michelle) Bannwolf, sister-in-law Cacilie Bannwolf; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barb, daughter Diane Bendever; brothers William (Myrna) Rowe Jr., James Rowe, sister-in-law Barbara Rowe; brothers-in-law Herbert & Joseph Bannwolf, and parents-in-law Herb & Julia Bannwolf.

A memorial gathering will take place from 11-1 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St. Harvard, IL 60033. Inurnment will be private.
