Richard "Dick" McCullough Obituary

Richard L. “Dick” McCullough, 72, of Capron passed away on March 12, 2023 at his home. Dick was born on March 2, 1951 in Harvard, IL the son of Ray and Ruth (Becker) McCullough. He graduated from North Boone High School, class of 1969, where he played football, basketball, baseball, and was on the track team. Dick also played football for the Delavan, WI Red Devils for two seasons. Dick served in the US Army from 1970-1972 in Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion North Boone Post 205. He retired in 2010 from Local 2 Laborers Union. Dick enjoyed coaching his sons’ baseball teams and watching his kids play junior high and high school sports. Dick played softball for many years in Capron and Harvard leagues until hanging up his cleats in 2021. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan.

Dick is survived by his daughter Ann (Robert Stein) McCullough of Denver, CO, and sons Shane and Travis (Erin Copeland) both of Capron, IL; his sisters Pam McCullough, Jolene Slater (Greg Morelock) and Lori (Andy) Welch; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Ruth, and his brother Raymond Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 PM Fri., March 17 at Capron Lions Park Pavilion, 305 East North St., Capron, IL 61012.
