Richard Hermonson

Richard Hermonson was born October 26, 1949, the second son of Alex and Frances (Perenchio) Hermonson. He passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026.

Richard was lucky enough to marry Martha Lee on February 28, 1976. Together they went on to have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. He was a proud Gold Card 150 operator, working for various companies and ending his career as the president of RP Hermonson, Inc. He was a lifelong resident of Harvard, member of St.  Joseph Catholic Church, the Loyal Order of the Moose, and a friend to many.

Richard will be missed by his children: Sarah (Brad) Davis, Alex (Emily) and Pam (Brad) Holmes; The Men: Phillip Richard, Nick, and Kaiden; his girlfriend Yolanda Adams; siblings John (Marla), Andy (Pat), and Kate; brother and sister in-law Ron Lee and Mary Schroeder, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Frances, in-laws George and Anne Lee, his wife Martha, brothers Joe and Pete, sisters and brothers in-law Fay Lee, Richard Schroeder, Terry and Nancy Wilson, niece Carly, and nephew George.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4 until 8 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St., Harvard, IL 60033.
