Raymond A Peters Jr.

Raymond A. Peters Jr of Harvard IL passed away suddenly on Nov. 3, 2022. He was born to Raymond and Gwenyth (née Gould) Peters on Dec. 30, 1938. He married his high school sweetheart Linda A Hayes on Aug. 9, 1957 and were fortunate to spend over 65 years together. They raised 3 children; Linda (David) Hill, Barbara Peters and Richard (Tammy) Peters. Also blessed with 5 grandchildren; Mark (Megan) Adams, Matthew Hill, Meredith (David) Mulligan, Emily and Molly Peters, and 3 great grandkids; Tucker, Maddie and Max Ray and Linda have lived in Harvard, Middleton WI, Jacksonville FL retuning to Harvard in 2003.  Ray spent many years in the hardware business; owning a hardware store, then sales and purchasing. Ray and Linda were very active in their church; St Paul’s Lutheran, Ray was most recently serving as congregation president. He was known and loved by many as much for his kindness as his sense of humor. If he picked on you you were one of his favorite people.  He is survived by his immediate family and siblings Charles (Ann) Peters, Vicki (Ed) Kelly & Butch 'Gene' (Becky) Peters. Also several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marge Ann (Donald) Brotz and infant brother Richard.

The visitation will be 10 AM until the 12 Noon funeral on Wed., Nov. 9 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1601 Garfield Rd., Harvard, IL 60033.
