Raymond J. Heftrig

Raymond J. Heftrig, 93, of Huntley, IL, and formerly of Harvard, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital.

Raymond was born on March 28, 1933, in Chicago, IL to Raymond Heftrig and Myrtle Nelson. On October 2, 1954, he was united in marriage with Joan Murphy. Before retirement, Ray worked as a carpenter. He was a very family-oriented man who enjoyed time spent with his loved ones, as well as fishing in his free time.

Ray is survived by his children, Vicki Pietrzak, Kim Heftrig, Kathi Phillips, Jill Heftrig, and Michael (Suzanne) Heftrig; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In death, he is reunited with his loving wife of 65 years, Joan; his parents; step-mother, Leona Heftrig; and grandson, Tyler.

In keeping with Ray’s wishes, no funeral services will be held at this time, though a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
