Peggye Lou Bankson, age 71, of Harvard, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2025
surrounded by loved ones.
Born on May 1, 1954, Peggye was a lifelong resident of Harvard who cherished her community
and the people in it. Known for her generous spirit, quick wit, and boundless love for her family
and friends, Peggye touched the lives of many.
She loved riding her motorcycle, watching crime shows, playing Bingo, attending church, loving
her many dogs and cats over the years and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Peggye is survived by her daughter Xavier (Cory) Whitford, son Nathaniel Clem, lifelong friend
Rose Berglund, brother Johnnye Bankson, grandchildren Makaya (Austin) Millan, Hailey, Kyle,
and Alli Clem, great granddaughter Esperanza Corral and many dear friends who will forever
hold her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her brothers Tommye, Terrye,
Dannye, and Billye Bankson and grandson Tommy Corral.
A celebration of Peggye’s life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 10:00AM-12:00PM
at Harvard Cornerstone Pentecostal Church of God, 343 S. Division Street, Harvard, IL 60033.
Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories of the beautiful life she lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Peggye’s name to Tommy
Corral Memorial Foundation, Lakeland Animal Shelter, or any local animal shelter.
Peggye’s love, laughter, and strength will remain a guiding light to all who knew her.
