Oskar Martinez, 20, of Harvard, IL lost his life tragically in a car accident on August 21, 2024. Oskar was born on October 4, 2003, in Harvard, IL.

Oskar loved playing football, cooking, and driving his Mustang. Family was very important to him, and he enjoyed being a big brother. He loved to spend time with his girlfriend. Oskar was generous, kind, and loyal.

Oskar is survived by his mother Rosalia Martinez (Perfecto Antonio); sister Mya Sherlyn Hernandez, brother Bryan Hernandez, sister Ashley Antonio, brother Daniel Antonio; maternal grandmother Francisca Segundo Zepeda; paternal grandmother Irene Geronimo; his girlfriend Viridiana Lugo and her parents Elvia Bernal and Jose Luis Lugo; as well as uncles and aunts Maria Del Rosario Martinez Segundo (Florentino De Jesus), Jose Manuel Martinez Segundo (Adriana Martinez Herrera), Paula Martinez Segundo (Ezequiel Contreras), Maria Guadalupe Martinez Segundo, Maria Gregoria Martinez De Jesus (Uvaldo De Jesus), Juan Carlos Martinez Segundo, Claudia Elizabeth Martinez De Segundo (Guadalupe Segundo Garduño, Maria De Jesus Martinez Segundo (Jose Francisco Antonio), Sergio Francisco Martinez Segundo (Estefania Gutierrez Quiroz), Pablo Martinez Carmona (Maria Mercado Contreras), Krystal Mercado, and Pablo Martinez Mercado.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Manuel Martinez Carmona and uncle Celso Martinez Segundo.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St., Harvard, IL 60033. Interment to immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
