Martha D (Wodynowicz) Stefanski

Martha Stefanski, 93, of Harvard, IL passed away at her home on Friday, October 28, 2022.

Martha was born on June 19, 1929, in Chicago, IL to Alex and Victoria (Poplawski) Wodinowich. She graduated from Tuley High School. She married Vernon Stefanski on August 5, 1967, at Midwest Bible Church in Chicago, IL. They spent many years together before his death on February 10, 2017.

Martha was a homemaker and mother to eight children. She loved spending time in her garden and enjoyed reading, she especially liked studying her bible. She also liked “collecting”, as her family fondly referred to her habit of never throwing anything away and always finding a new use for something.

She is survived by her children Karen (Ed) Kuras, Linda Mitchell, Julie (Jack) Reveland, Louis Hoeflich, Michael Hoeflich, Laurie (Tom) Bellino, grandchildren Dawn, Tim, Angela, Christina, Jessica, Sarah, Diana, Nora, Adam, Lisa, Sarah, Emma, Chloe, Ben, Tess, Libby, and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, parents Alex and Victoria Wodinowich, son Gary Hoeflich, daughter Peggie Sue Stefanski, grandchild Laura, siblings Louis Wodinowich, and Richard Wodinowich 

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Wed. November 2, 2022, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W Sumner St., Harvard, IL. Services will be 11 AM Thurs. November 3, 2022, at the funeral home, with interment to follow in McHenry County Memorial Park.
