Margaret Jeane Christenson, age 95, passed away peacefully at Williams Bay Health Services on March 23, 2023.
Jeane was born at home on August 3rd, 1927 in Walworth Wisconsin to William and Mary (Ashby) Phelps. She graduated from Walworth High School and studied at Michael Reese School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois.
Jeane married her high school sweetheart, Maurice Christenson, on July 20th, 1945. She worked in the office at Big Foot High School, Fontana Grade School, as the bookkeeper for the Walworth doctor’s office and for the Chadha Dental Clinic prior to retiring.
Jeane loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She rooted for the Packers, loved to watch golf and was head over heels when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. Her favorite people were her children, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was looking forward to her first great-great-grandchild in the fall.
Jeane is survived by her two daughters JoAnn (James) Carbonetti of Harvard, Diane Zener of Beloit, one son Robert of Sharon, three granddaughters Angela (Richard) Frank, Lauren (Nicholas) Hill, Melissa (Asha) Zener, one grandson John (Elise) Carbonetti, and great grandchildren Alexander and Tyler Frank, Haley (Alexander Hernandez) Bullis, Jacob (Madilyn Letterle) Bullis, Peyton, Brooklyn, Gavin and Aubree Hill, and Aletha Zener.
She was preceded in death by her father, sister Beatrice Colondro, mother, son-in-law Craig Zener, husband, and son David Christenson.
Jeane did not wish to have a funeral. The family is honoring this request.
