Mabel Huffar, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, just three days before her 98th birthday. Bom on July 6, 1927, Mabel lived 97 beautiful years filled with faith, love, and deep devotion to those around her.
A proud and loving mother of four, Mabel was the heart and soul of her family. She created a home rooted in warmth, kindness, and grace. Though widowed too soon, she remained a steady and nurturing presence- guiding her family through life with quiet strength and endless love.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures- especially getting her hair styled by her dear friend Carla Manzella, and her fingernails lovingly done by her oldest granddaughter, Nicki Warn. These special moments brought her happiness and connection and always left her feeling cared for and radiant.
In her final years, Mabel was cared for by her daughter Roxanne Pieroni, with whom she shared a home. Through Roxanne's dedication and support, Mabel was able to remain in the house where she had raised her family-a place filled with memories, love, and tradition. This heartfelt act of devotion honored Mabel's wishes and gave her the peace of staying where she felt most at home, surrounded by the life she had built.
Mabel deeply valued her faith and was a devoted member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, attending whenever she could and drawing peace and strength from her relationship with God.
To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mabel was a constant source of wisdom, comfort, and unconditional love. Her grandchildren- Nicki (Mark Warn), Ethan (Rebecca Sherry), Jenna (David McCafferty), Alexis (Bruce Rucker), and Ashley Ramon- were especially close to her heart. And while not everyone she cared for was family by blood, many family friends and younger generations considered her a grandmother in every way that truly mattered. Her love reached far beyond her immediate family and left a lasting impression on countess lives.
Mabel was a sweetheart through and through- gracious, thoughtful, and deeply devoted to her loved ones. Her presence brought peace, her words brought comfort, and her memory will forever be a blessing.
She was preceded in going to the Lord by her parents, Frank and Rose (Reese) Schmidt; her beloved husband, Richard; her daughter Rosetta Huffar, and grandson, Bret Huffar. She is survived by her children: Deborah (Nathan Sherry), Don (Mary) Huffar, Roxanne (Dan Pieroni), and Sandra Ramon.
Though we will miss her dearly, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace- reunited with her beloved husband and held in God's eternal embrace.
