Lorene L. Orszula (Lorie), 79, of Harvard passed away on July 17th, 2023. Lorie was born on August 30, 1943, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Leona (Zalent) Hessenthaler. On April 19,1975, she married Edward Orszula in Lombard, IL. She was the oldest of 4 children and attended Luther North High School. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, step-mother, step-grandmother, and step-great grandmother. She loved her family and extended family dearly…probably more than many ever knew. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lorie was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. In her free time, she loved to watch TV, cook, and decorate the home with collectibles.
Lorie was always there for her kids, whether they needed help with homework or just cheering her boys on in sports, life, and any other endeavor. After working multiple jobs, she still found the time to always be in the crowd for a sporting event cheering on the Harvard Hornets.
Having three boys, she took to sports and was a Chicago fan of the Bears, Cubs, and Bulls. She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. She was a true role model who we will always look up to.
Lorie was preceded in death by her parents Elmer & Leona, her husband, Edward, and her sister, Lorelei. She leaves behind her children, Eric Danner (Natalie), Chris Danner (Lori), Timothy Orszula (Kerri), Mark Orszula (Cynthia), Debbie Maurer and Kevin Orszula. She also leaves behind several grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all the healthcare workers over the years for their assistance and support.
