Linda S Kennedy

Linda S. (Jones) Kennedy, 70, of Harvard, IL. passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in Hospice Care in Barrington, IL.

Linda was born June 27, 1953, in Harvard, IL. to Willard “Frog” and Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Long. She grew up in Harvard and attended school there. She moved away for a while but came back to Harvard where she has resided for the past 40+ years. Linda held a variety of jobs including being an orthodontist assistant for Dr. Glen Hansen, a pharmacy tech at both Richardson’s Pharmacy and Seeley’s Pharmacy, but her most important job was raising her three children. She was the best mom, Mimi, wife, mother-in-law, and friend to all who knew her. She always put everyone first and herself last. Linda enjoyed many things such as cooking, baking, crafting, being with family and friends and most of all, being a Mimi.

Linda is survived by her husband Richard Kennedy; her three children Christopher (Danielle) Jones, Kelly (Deia) Jones, Jamie (Eric) Brehm; three grandchildren Ellie, Samuel, and Benjamin Brehm, all of Harvard; two stepchildren, John (Michelle) Kennedy of Cambridge,WI and Peggy (Jay) Osbourne of Elkhorn, WI; 5 step grandchildren Tyler, Hailey, Donald, Angela, and MJ; brothers Larry Long of Rockford, IL and Denny (Chris) Long of Poplar Grove, IL; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends as well as many “bonus” children.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, IL for taking such great care of Linda during her final days. They kept her very comfortable and at peace and made everyone feel welcome when they came to visit.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 4 PM until 7 PM at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St. Harvard, IL 60033. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 10 AM at Saunders & McFarlin.  Following the funeral service, Linda’s final resting place will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Harvard.
