Kenneth W. Smith, 69, of Harvard, died Mon. Dec. 7 at Kishwaukee Hospital in Dekalb.
Ken was born Oct. 16, 1951 to Walter A. and Florence A. (Frenk) Smith in Harvard. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Ken was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Harvard since 1984 until his retirement. He was a member of the Harvard Sportsman Club, Harvard Moose Lodge, and a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Ken was a very outgoing man who enjoyed being around people and made many friends. Anytime someone needed help, he would help with no questions asked. He had a fondness of cactus juice and made sure that everyone around him enjoyed that drink too.
Survivors include his cousins Nancy Smith and Don Smith, good friend Dawn, special friend Mary Botts, along with numerous other friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The visitation will be 11 AM until the 1 PM funeral service on Mon., Dec. 14 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033. Rev. Eric Blachford will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
