Kenneth J. Sternickle, 74, of Harvard, Illinois passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at home surrounded by his loved ones, after a long struggle with heart disease.
Ken was born July 18, 1947 in Berwyn, Illinois. He grew up in Johnsburg, IL, son of John and Eloise (Edwards) Sternickle. Graduated from McHenry Community High School (1964), and received a Mechanical Engineering degree from U of I, Urbana-Champaign (1968). Ken married his best friend, Louine Klontz, on October 19, 1985 in McHenry, Illinois. The pair built a beautiful life together full of lasting memories. He worked for many years as an industrial electrical technician for McHenry Electric & Supply / Dreisilker Electric Motors, Inc. Ken loved fishing and woodworking. He was known for his ability to fix anything and everything at his job, and for family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling; visiting all 50 states and most national parks with his wife and children.
Ken is loved and missed by his wife Louine; daughters Jessica (Roger) Sternickle and Melanie (Matthew) Rampey; brothers John R. Sternickle and Arthur J. Sternickle; and his grandchildren Liam J. Salako, Lillian C. Salako; his very special niece Sandra (Andy) Sternickle-Ayers and many more nieces and nephews.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents John and Eloise Sternickle.
In honor of Ken’s wishes, the family is foregoing services and selected donation to the Anatomical Gift Association.
