Karen Beigh Obituary

Karen Beigh, of Harvard, IL passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at the age of 73.

Karen was born on March 22, 1952, in Chicago, IL the daughter of Anthony and Betty (McGraw) Licht.

Karen married Dorn Beigh on July 26, 1980, at the United Methodist Church in Harvard, IL and together they raised two sons, Matthew and Mark.

Karen made an impression everywhere she went. She enjoyed travelling with her husband Dorn and was especially fond of visiting the Black Hills area. Karen enjoyed the whole process of planning trips, maybe even more than the trips themselves. She also loved planning and hosting parties. Karen liked bird watching and admiring them in their natural environment. She was interested in genealogy and researched both sides of her family tree. Karen also enjoyed cooking and canning. She and Dorn were members of the Old Cranks car club, and she was proud to help with their newsletter which she earned awards for. Karen was a kind, generous, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

Karen is survived by her husband Dorn; son Mark Anthony Beigh; granddaughter Kaitlyn Marie Beigh; siblings Debra Wilson, Randall (Robin) Licht, Lori (Rob) Liszek, and Anthony (Jaime) Licht Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Betty Licht and her son Matthew Beigh.
