Judy “Oma” Drewelow, 75, of Harvard, IL passed away on Thursday at 3:44 pm at Javon Bea Hospital surrounded by her family.
Judy was born on October 24, 1947, in Harvard, IL, to Raymond and Mary Wincapaw and married the love of her life, John, on April 25, 1981. She stayed in Harvard for the remainder of her life and committed her working years to the Harvard Community Credit Union.
She was a woman of class, sass, and had one of the biggest hearts we knew. She constantly went out of her way to take care of others, call the ones she loved most, and she always gave the best birthday presents. Her favorite hobbies included watching her daughters play volleyball, going to the mall, fall craft fairs, shopping for her grandkids, and her annual birthday trip to Ishnala Supper Club in the Wisconsin Dells.
Judy’s biggest dream was to become a mom, and when she was unable to have children of her own, she adopted two young girls from Korea at the age of 40. Her biggest joys were her daughters, and she was always immensely proud of them for the women they had become and the people they surrounded themselves with.
She was unsure if she would ever have grandchildren, but sure enough became an Oma and was blessed with four of them. She lived for her grandkids and spent every chance she could with them.
Judy is survived by her husband John, daughters Kari (Sean) Slattery, Kellie (Justin) Mitchell, grandchildren Julian Lee Mitchell, Sophie Patricia Slattery, Theodore James Mitchell and Duke Robert Slattery.
She was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Mary Wincapaw, brother Clifford Wincapaw, mother- in law Loretta Drewelow, Father-in-law Robert Drewelow, and brother-in-law Raymond Drewelow.
It was Judy’s wish for cremation and no funeral service.
The family would love to thank the staff of Javon Bea for their care of Judy.
