Joyce M. Wagner

Joyce M. Wagner, 71, of Harvard, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Alden Estates of Huntley. Daughter of the late Clifford and Marie (Wicke) Wagner, Joyce was born on December 15, 1954, in Harvard. Joyce had a lifelong fondness for animals and enjoyed spending time with her pet birds, cats, and dogs over the years. Her caring heart extended into her work for over 15 years as a bus driver for the Special Education District of McHenry County. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harvard. In her free time, Joyce could be found watching her favorite television shows: The Three Stooges, Jerry Springer, or Judge Judy.

Joyce is survived by her children, Julie (Nathan) Schultz of Capron, IL, and Kelly (Stephanie) Maynard of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Rachel (Ryan Koepke) Schultz, Amber Schultz, Jarrid Maynard, and Jakob (Brittany) Maynard; siblings, Patricia Brown and Keith (Vanessa) Wagner; aunts Helen (Bill) Roeske and Phyllis Wagner; former husband, Ignacio Ortiz, and JourneyCare volunteer Michael and social worker Jennifer who shared many hours with Joyce, and she truly cherished their companionship and kindness.

In death, Joyce is reunited with her parents, Clifford and Marie Wagner; brother, Martin Wagner, brother-in-law, Alexander Brown; and former husband, Gerald Maynard.

A visitation will take place from 3:00PM until 6:00PM, at which time a funeral service will be held, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, IL.
