It is with great sadness to announce the passing of John Rossmiller, Friday, April 29, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee while on vacation.
This is John’s obituary in his own words.
John Rossmiller born March 16, 1948 in Harvard to Dean and Anne (Butterfield) Rossmiller.
He was a graduate of Harvard High School in 1966 and earned his bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. His post graduated work was conducted at Northern Illinois University.
He was a US Army veteran serving 18 months in Germany, attaining the rank of sergeant.
He taught Social Studies and coached flag football, basketball and track for 33 years at Harvard Junior High School. He estimated that he taught over 5,000 Harvard students in that time span.
He also was employed by Gage Marine in Williams Bay, Wisconsin for 26 years.
He was a loyal follower of Harvard sports, the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and the Chicago Cubs. A Cub fan who lived to see them win the 2016 World Series.
He was a founding member of the Harvard Basketball League that provided recreation and competition for adults for 20 years. He was a member of the board of Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
In addition, he was an avid golfer, enjoyed being on his boat on Lake Geneva, and spending time in his garden.
He was proud of the fact he retired with 2 years of accumulated sick days. He never suffered a broken bone, never the subject of an operation, never placed under anesthesia, never spent a night in the hospital.
Survivors are the three most important people in his life - his son Jeb (Erica) and daughter Iede (Dan), and the only real love of his life, Midge Tesch.
