John R. Kizer

John R. Kizer, 69, of Harvard, died Mon., Nov. 22, 2021 at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital.

John was born Aug. 7, 1952 to George C. and Beverly Jean (Inman) Kizer in Elgin, IL.  He married Melody Morris on April 20, 1974 in Marengo, IL.  His hobby was his campground and he really loved camping, and watching the Bears and NASCAR.

John is survived by his wife Melody (Morris) Kizer, children John (Tammy) Morris, Jaime Kizer, and Melissa (James) Tracy, grandchildren Ashley (Matt) Threadgill, Matthew (Tiffany) Morris, and Emma Jean Kizer, 5 great-grandchildren, brother George “Jay” (Melissa) Kizer, sisters Pat Popp, Mary Birch, Karen (David) Straley, Debbie Newland, and Betty Linhard, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Beverly, and his brothers Robert and George Kizer.

The visitation will be from 1 – 5 PM on Sun., Nov. 28 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.  The funeral will be at 11 AM on Mon., Nov. 29 at the funeral home.  Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock.
