James C Schmidt

James C. Schmidt, 89, of Woodstock, IL died on November 16, 2021.

He was born on July 4, 1932, in Palatine to Edwin and Josephine (Stauber) Schmidt.

James enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He worked for Northwestern Railroad and retired to Florida after 35 years to enjoy his lifelong hobby of gardening. 

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy (Jerry) Lemke and Pat (Alan) Esker, one son Steve (Beth) Schmidt, 9 grandchildren Krissy (Scott) Starwalt, Daniel (Carrie) Lemke, Amy (Hansen) Voss, Zachariah (Susanna) Esker, Jacob (Alyssa) Esker, Joanna Esker, Joshua (Candace) Schmidt, and Adam and Lucas Schmidt, and 11 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Josephine, his wife Barbara, and brother Edwin Schmidt.

The visitation will be 1 – 3 PM Sun., Nov. 21 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.  The funeral will be at 10 AM Mon., Nov. 22 at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Randhill Park Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL
