Ira "Sam" Christenson

Ira “Sam” J. Christenson, 92, of Sharon, WI flew away to be with the Lord on June 27, 2023.

Sam was born on January 19, 1931 in Elkhorn, WI the son of Ira W. and Martha F. (Mecklenburg) Christenson. On December 18, 1954 he married the love of his life, Phyllis.

He was the oldest member of the Brick Church of Walworth and spent over 32 years maintaining the lawn for the church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being in the country, gardening, mowing the lawn, and visiting friends.

In the springtime, Sam always looked forward to the roar of a Harley. Although he no longer rode motorcycles, they always remained a hobby.

Sam is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, his children, Randy Christenson of Walworth, Rebecca (James) Warnken of Oregon, Tim (Lisa) Christenson of Delavan, and Mark (Julie) Christenson of Wittenberg, a sister, Donna (Charles) Corson, 9 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Martha, 4 sisters Margaret, Doris, Evelyn, Beverly, 3 brothers Clifford, Russell, and Maurice, daughter-in-law Cheryl, and 3 grandchildren Rose, Joshua, and Ryan.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 3 from 9-11 AM at the Brick Church of Walworth, N1509 Brick School Road, Walworth, WI 53184. Services will follow the visitation. Interment will be in Brick Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Brick Church of Walworth.
