Helen M. Carroll, 94, of Harvard, died Sun., Nov. 21, 2021 at her home surrounded by love and family.
Helen was born June 8, 1927 to William and Helen (Melvin) Morgan in Chicago. She married Robert J. Carroll on May 17, 1947 in Chicago. She was a bookkeeper for National Tea and retired from Charles Levy. Known by all for her cooking and baking, she was always available to chat on the phone or over a cup of tea. She was a powerful prayer warrior, great listener, and friend to many. Christmas was marked by boxes of homemade cookies for her family and friends. She would often host dinners so she could bake for her family and friends, and was known for her cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies. Helen loved her Hallmark movies, was an avid Bears and Sox fan, and especially loved spending time with her family and cat Lily.
Survivors include her son William (Paula Hines) Carroll of Harvard, daughter Nancy (Henry) Guzik of Salem, WI, grandchildren Robin and Adam Monroe, Shawna Guzik, Christiana and Bobby Carroll, great-grandchildren Christian and Shane Guzik.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents William and Helen, son Dennis (Pamela) Carroll, siblings Johnny Morgan, Margaret (Morgan) Steele, Dorothy Ward, and grandchild Ariel Carroll.
The visitation will be 4 – 8 PM Tue., Nov. 30 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033. The funeral will be at 11 AM Wed., Dec. 1 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
