Hanna Katherine Brady

Hanna Katherine Brady, 94, of Machesney Park and formerly Harvard, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at TLC Living Community in Machesney Park, IL.

Hanna was born April 8, 1930, to Claude O. and Myrtle (Pihl) Pagles in New Milford. She married Richard P. Brady on January 1, 1950.

She was proud to work at the family store, Brady Jewelers, for many years. Hanna enjoyed sewing, dancing, hosting family holidays, travelling, and winters in Florida.

Hanna was a member of the Harvard Businesswomen’s Profession Club, Harvard Moose Lodge, and Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include daughter Deborah (Jack) Venable of St. Peters, MO; son David (Kathi) Brady of Harvard, IL; daughters Colleen (Dan) Calhoun of Poplar Grove, IL and Laurie (Dennis) Wilkening of Harvard, IL; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Brady, loving partner Robert Wittmus, her parents, brother Orville Pagles, sisters Gertrude Sward and Jeanette McCullough, and her twin Ruth Walker.

Visitation will be held from 1 PM until the 3 PM funeral service on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Dawn Roucka officiating, 504 E. Diggins St., Harvard, IL 60033. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Harvard, IL.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at TLC Living Community and Heartland Hospice for the special care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Hanna’s honor to Trinity Lutheran Church.
