Glenda Lee Miller

Glenda Lee Miller, 68, of Harvard, passed away on Wed., April 17, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. 

Glenda was born Nov. 9, 1955, to Herman and Shirley (Miller) Oost in Harvard. Growing up in Harvard was something she always took pride in.  She graduated from Harvard High and was in the class of ‘73.  She married Randy J Miller on Aug 19, 1978, in Harvard and had her only daughter in 1982. On Oct. 16, 1999, she married Paul Lis at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Harvard. 

Glenda had worked for the First State Bank in Harvard starting in 1974 as a loan officer until the change of hands to Castle Bank in mid-1990’s. Following the bank, she worked for the McHenry Co States Attorney as Chief Deputy to Gary Pack and later she was a Chief Deputy for the McHenry County Treasurer Bill LeFew for 18 years. She became the McHenry County Treasurer herself from 2014-2022 and retired in November that year.  In life, she held many positions in both private and public organizations, with one being a Past President of the Harvard Chamber of Commerce.  She loved having her nails and hair done, traveling with friends/ family, spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and childhood friends, attending social activities, doing puzzles in her basement, and sitting in her sunroom with her dog, Gertie.

Survivors include her husband Paul Lis, daughter Tiffany Miller (Eddie Alvarez), grandchildren Aubree, Nova, and Ezequiel “Zeke”, sister Bonnie (Bill) Bailey, cousins, loving nieces and nephews, and lifetime friend Randy Miller.  She will be missed by so many including the many people she worked with throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Shirley Oost, her sisters Connie and Brenda, and many beloved family members.

The visitation will be 4 – 8 PM Mon., April 22 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.  The funeral mass will be at 11:30 AM Tue., April 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St., Harvard, IL 60033.  The Rev. Steven Clarke will officiate.  Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Harvard.
