George Peter Allen

George Peter Allen, 85, of Harvard, passed away peacefully at Symphony Maple Crest in Belvidere on Friday, November 24.

George was preceded in death by his father, Peter George Allen, and mother, Ina Maude Allen (nee Hopperstad).

George was a lifelong resident of Harvard, IL.  He was born in Harvard Hospital on  January 31, 1938.  He held many jobs at Admiral from 1956-1966, at Chicago Eastern from 1966-1981, and for B.F. Skinner part-time for many years.

George resided for the last 25 years at Harvard Ranch for Seniors.  His last known pet was a beagle dog, Belle.  He was highly opinionated and often visited various businesses along Ayer Street.  George was quite a character.  He worked for Windy City Amusements from 1992 until 1999 or so.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  He will be missed.
