George Ainger, 79, of Harvard, IL passed away peacefully on September 10, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson disease.
George was born on January 16, 1942 to Gladys and Alan Ainger in Woodstock, IL. After graduating from Alden-Hebron high school in 1960, he went on to work at the family farm on State Line Road.
George had three children: Sharon (Jon), Dennis (Catherine), and Linda (Tom). He also had four grandchildren with Dennis and two grandchildren with Linda: Tori and Josh.
Anyone who knew George (aka: Pop) knew that he was the most loving father, uncle, brother, and grandpa a family could ask for. He was a dairy farmer and very proud of his homestead. George was predeceased by his mother Gladys, father Alan, sister Mary, brother in-law Mike and Uncle Elbert. He is survived by his sister Nancy Weigle (Doc) and his brother David (Carol). He also has two cousins: Steve (Julie) Ainger with children Sam & Alec and Ken (Mary) Ainger with son Joe.
George had a very large family that loved him. He had three children living on the farm that he loved like grandchildren from his nephew Alan (Katie): Kyle, Jake, and Ava. Plus, more nieces and nephews: Alex, Caryl (Tim), Barb (Dwight), Craig (Trina), and Diane; Karen, Kristen (Wesley), and Kevin (Angie); then great nieces and nephews: Allie (Scott) & Matt (Casey); Peter, Joe, Sam, & Grace; Collin & Kendall; Sophie; Maya & Michael; Brody, Holly, & Clay.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Harvard Care Center (C/O Danielle) P.O. Box 850, Harvard, IL 60033. The family is extremely grateful for the love and care that the Center has provided over the last 2 ½ years.
There will be a visitation at 10am and funeral to follow at 11am on Thursday, September 16th at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 West Sumner Street, Harvard, IL. Interment will be in Linn-Hebron Cemetery.
