Evelyn Mae (Lester) McFarlin

Evelyn Mae McFarlin, 87, of Harvard, IL passed away peacefully at her home on October 8, 2025.

Evelyn was born on December 20, 1937, in Harvard, IL the daughter of Willard and Dorothy (Pennington) Lester.

She was raised in the Methodist Church, and she led a life grounded in faith. Evelyn was a longtime member of the Harvard Moose Lodge.

Evelyn will be remembered as a loving and strong sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished time with her family and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also known as an animal lover, giving "forever homes" to a number of cats and dogs over the years. Evelyn also had a passion for country music and Elvis. 

Evelyn is survived by her children Ron McFarlin Jr of Henderson, NV, Marilyn (Allen) Logsdon of Harvard, IL, Christine (Daniel) Torrey of Wonder Lake, IL, Donna McFarlin of Harvard, IL, and Darrell (Becky) McFarlin of Poplar Grove, IL; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; her sister Linda “Stacey” Lewis of Rockford, IL; and her brother Rick Lester of Lake Placid, FL, and her beloved dog, Annie. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Larry Lester, Danny Lester, and David Lester; her nephew Seth Bennett; her ex-husband Ronald McFarlin; and her soul cat Gus, who will be laid to eternal rest with her. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10 AM until the 12 Noon funeral service at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home with Pastor Claire Brennecka officiating, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033. Interment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery to follow immediately.
