Ethel "Mert" Heimann passed away on May 23, 2022, at the age of 86. She was surrounded in love by her family.
Ethel was born on August 18, 1935, in Nazareth, TX on her family farm. She was the daughter of Alphonse & Leona (Pohlmeier) Albracht, had 8 siblings and grew up in Nebraska.
Ethel married Bernard Heimann in Lindsay, NE on June 13, 1956. The couple shared 65 wonderful years of marriage and raised 4 daughters.
She attended nursing school at, Mt. Marty University in Yankton, SD where she received her RN certification. Ethel joined the American Red Cross where she spent most of her working career as a charge nurse for the bloodmobile and retired from them after 15 years of service.
Ethel & Ben retired to Fairfield Bay, AR where she was involved with many community activities, including volunteering at the library, participating in Care Caps, Quilting Groups, Eucharistic Minister and Greeter at St. Francis of Assisi, ceramics, and a member of the XI Gamma Kappa Sorority. She loved their life in Arkansas, and was blessed with great friendships.
Ethel is survived by her spouse, Bernard J. Heimann, her 4 children, Michele Pratt, Yvonne (Jim) Ditsch, Lisa (Chris) Cefalu, Laura (Scott) Simmerman, grandchildren, Joe (Tracey) Pratt, David (Stephanie) Pratt, Courtney Tate, Kari (Matt) Creviston, Amanda (Jeremy) Ditsch, Shannon (Mitch) Knief, Luke Schwendemann, Logan Simmerman, Brooke Simmerman, Jana Simmerman, great-grandchildren, Bessie, Kyle, Treavor, Morgan, Hailie, Chloe, Katie, Liam, Lexi, Riley, Ella, Lincoln, and Scarlett.
She was preceded in death by: Parents Alphonse & Leona Albracht, Dale Albracht (brother), Terry Pratt (son-in-law), James Pratt (grandson), Mary & Francis Heimann (twin infant daughters)
Ethel will be incredibly missed by so many and graciously welcomed into the kingdom of God. She has always provided support and love for her family and was always here when we needed her.
