Emmett L. Blazier, 95, of Harvard, passed away at home surrounded by family.
Emmett was born Feb. 10, 1926 to Frank and Regina (Whaples) Blazier in Capron, IL. He married Verda M. Loudenbeck on Feb. 2, 1950 at the Harvard United Methodist Church. Emmett was a member of the Chemung United Methodist Church, served in the Navy during WWII ,and was the owner of Blazier Disposal.
He is survived by his wife: Verda M. Blazier of Harvard, children Cindy (John) Lagerhausen of Harvard, Jackie Slavin of Harvard, Becky (Phil) Knight of Harvard, daughter-in-law Darcey Blazier of Woodstock, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Randy Blazier, brother James Blazier, and sister Louise Roush.
The visitation will be 9 – 11 AM on Sat., Jan. 8 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033. The funeral will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Chemung United Methodist Church.
