Elizabeth “Betty” McFarlin, 81, of Harvard passed away on Sunday, February 18 at the Harvard Care Center.
She was born on April 1, 1942 to Kenneth D. and Lucille (Zien) Gibson in Harvard.
Betty was a culinary master and whipped up delicious treats and meals for many hungry people over the years. She treasured her time serving the students at Harvard High School for over 30 years. Her meals and treats are still talked about to this day.
When she wasn’t cooking, she could be found knitting and spending time with her family and friends that she absolutely treasured.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald, her parents Kenneth and Lucille, and siblings Pinky, Dolly, Jack, Tom, Jerry, Bob, and Joe.
She is survived by her children John (Sharon), Kurt, and Kent McFarlin, grandchildren Keith and Kylee, siblings Bill (Pat) Gibson and Kay Ellingson, sister-in-law Joann Gibson, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, February 22 from 11 AM until the 1 PM service at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner Street, Harvard. Deacon Tony Koss of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be presiding over the service. The service will be LiveStreamed.
