Dorothy Goodsell

Dorothy Goodsell of Harvard passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Valley Hi Nursing Home.

Dorothy was born June 29, 1920 to Patrick and Lillian (Haege) Metge in Sandwich, IL.

Dorothy worked at the die casting factory, Auto-Lite, in Woodstock, IL for 42 years before retirement. She was very involved in the women’s church group, LWML throughout her life. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and her favorite cat, Bow. She loved spending time with her family; any excuse to get together was a good one.

Survivors include her daughters Judy (Stan) Hage and Carol Patten, two grandsons, Kelly & Danny Goodsell, four granddaughters, Teresa Street, Kathy, Linda, and Sheri Feverhammer, and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Lillian Metge, sons Charlie and Mike Goodsell, daughter Joanne Weiss, grandson Stevie Hage, and her great-grandchild Arra Goodsell.

Dorothy will be truly missed by her family and friends she made at Valley Hi. She was very grateful for the special attention she received from her aids and therapy nurses. Especially her friend, nurse Aggie.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 6th from 10 to 11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church with service to follow at 11 am. Interment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
