Donald R. Peterson

Donald R. Peterson, 82, of Harvard, Illinois, and formerly of Skokie, passed away peacefully at his home.

Born on August 3, 1943, in Chicago, Don was the son of the late Robert and Grace Peterson. He attended mortuary school and began his career as a funeral director in the Chicagoland area. Don later served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Don worked as a carpenter. A perfectionist by nature, he took immense pride in his craftsmanship and the quality of his work.

Known for his gift of gab, Don was a natural storyteller who could captivate any audience. His quick wit and wonderful sense of humor brought joy to those around him. Beneath it all, he had a big heart and a deep love for animals, especially dogs.

Interment with military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will take place in the near future.
