Dennis Rye

Dennis Rye, 73, of Harvard, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford.

Dennis was born June 25, 1951 to Joseph and Madilyn (Relle) Reyes in Chicago.

Dennis enjoyed a good cup of coffee with a solid discussion. He had a talent for talking that earned him an award for public speaking in school. He easily could have been a debater or had his own talk show on radio.  Dennis was an avowed Republican and enjoyed his time as a public servant when he was elected a Commiteemen.  He enjoyed taking care of his family, watching classic cinema and in recent years, anything related to NASA and space travel.

Survived by his wife Bonnie (Webb), daughters Elizabeth (Rye) and Sarah (Maynard), Son-in-law John Maynard of Harvard, his brother Joseph Reyes of Laporte, Indiana and his sister Madilyn Dantona of Glen Allen, Virginia.

Proceeded by his father Joseph, his mother Madilyn, his stepfathers Raymond Graham and Marvin Hawks, his brother Wayne and all his aunts and uncles and many of his cousins.

There will be a visitation from 10 AM until the 11:30 AM funeral service Tuesday, November 26, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.  Deacon Tony Koss will officiate.  Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
