Dale Everett Montgomery

Dale Everett Montgomery, 90, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Cedarhurst Assisted Living in Woodstock.

Dale grew up on a farm, where he was born January 26, 1935 to Harley and Harriet (Grabbert) Montgomery in a farm house in Alden, IL. He married Margery Ann Welch on July 17, 1954, in Belvidere, IL.

Dale enjoyed watching old western shows and wrestling on tv, listening to classic country music, growing tomatoes, green peppers, and cucumbers in his garden.  He also liked to go to auctions, mostly at farms, collecting old radios, butter churns, and all kinds of tools.  He would refurbish antiques by sandblasting and painting them.  One of his passions was riding his Harley Motorcycle and driving his red Camero.  Dale always had to have his Diet Pepsi Caffeine-free pop and chocolate candy.

Survivors include his children Deborah Ebel, Dale Montgomery Jr., Judith Woods, Cheryl (Mike) Kendrick, Susan (Mark) Francis, and Joseph Montgomery, nine grandchildren Michael (Lindsay), Christopher (Jennifer), Melissa (Michael), Bryan (Maryam), Bradley (Kelsey), Dale Jay (Abby), Kyle (Kelly), Amber (Jake), and Tanya (Jacob), 12 great grandchildren, and brothers Robert Montgomery, Thomas (Nancy) Montgomery, and Raymond (Jenny) Montgomery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margery, daughter Barbara, grandsons Steven and Timothy, sister Jane, brothers Joseph and John, and son-in-law Richard Woods.

The visitation will be 6 – 8 PM Friday, February 28, 2025, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.  The funeral service will be at 12 PM Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Mausoleum at McHenry County Memorial Park, 11301 US Rt. 14, Woodstock, IL 60098.  Interment will follow at McHenry County Memorial Park.
