Catherine "Kate" (Heiden) Perkins

Catherine “Kate” Perkins passed away at her home in Harvard, IL on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the age of 90.

She was born on July 6, 1932 in Walworth, WI to Louis and Mabel (nee Kenyon) Heiden.

She married her husband William “Bill” on July 8, 1950 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. They spent many years together before his passing on February 10, 2005. Kate worked hard alongside her husband and family on the dairy farm. She was a homemaker and CUSD 50 School Bus driver for 32 years. Kate enjoyed many summers up north at their cabin on Spooner Lake. 

She is survived by her children Tom (Laurie) Perkins, Terry (Phyllis) Perkins, Pat (Ron) Betlinski, Jim (Marianne) Perkins, sister Elizabeth Petersen, 12 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Mabel Heiden, spouse William “Bill” Perkins, daughter Linda Bloomgren, grandson Chris Betlinski, five siblings and their spouses.

Inurnment is private at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Teri McCloud and the nurses and staff of Mercy Health at Home for the wonderful care they provided.  A celebration of life will be held by the family Sat. August 20, 2022 from 1 - 4 PM at The Ballroom at J's Lanes, 5507 US HWY 14, Harvard, IL 60033.
