Obituary

Carole R. Brennecka, 87, of Harvard, died Friday, June 16, 2023, at Alden Terrace of McHenry.

She was born on February 14, 1936, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin to Peter and Vera (Schuette) Lucich.

Carole spent many years working as a cashier at Publix in Boynton Beach, Florida and then Sullivan’s in Harvard. She was a die-hard Cubs fan and golf nut. She never played golf, but always enjoyed watching it, especially Tiger. The Cubs winning the World Series in her lifetime was a major highlight of her life.

Carole is survived by her children, daughters Kathleen Felice, Charlotte (David Sr.) Abel, and son Tom (Dawn) Firn, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Vera, her husband Robert Brennecka, brother Bob Lucich, sister Pat LeBaron, and grandson Kurtis Firn.

The family would like to thank Alden Terrace and hospice for their loving care.

Per Carole’s wishes, there will be no visitation.
