Burley Merl Linhart, 91, of Harvard, passed away on Thurs., Nov. 20, 2025, at Amberwood Care Center in Rockford, IL.
Burley was born Nov. 19, 1934, to Jake and Ida (Visgar) Linhart in Wonewoc, WI. He married Faye Behrens on Aug. 19, 1953, in Harvard, IL. He was in the US Air Force and served during the Korean War.
Burley owned B & L Appliance Store in Harvard for over 30 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard, and he loved spending time with his family, delighted in going to flea markets, and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include his wife Faye Linhart, children Sher Nay, Burley D. (Dora) Linhart, Craig (Debbie) Linhart, Edna (Manuel) Salazar, Timmy (Vickie) Linhart, Nathan (Donna) Linhart, 2 adopted children Teresa Brooks and Lisa (Jim) Melson, 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, brothers Donny & Leo Linhart, sisters Geroldine Neff and Ardis Teresi, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Erica Faye Listebarger, brothers Jerry, Larry, and Lester Linhart, sister Donna Walling, son-in-law John Nay, and adopted children Brian Brooks and Pam Linhart.
There will be a visitation from 10 AM until the 12 PM funeral service Fri., Nov 28, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 504 E. Diggins St., Harvard, IL 60033. Interment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Harvard, IL. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Green Bay Packers attire.
