Brenda (Mackey) Lemon

We are sad to announce that our wife, mom, grammy, aunt, cousin and friend, Brenda Lemon, passed away on January 2nd, at home, surrounded by family, in Princeton, IL, after a long battle with COPD and Emphysema. Brenda was born in Harvard, IL to Berniece Mackey and Charles (Dude) Mackey on January 25, 1959.
Brenda was sarcastic, funny, loving, grudge holding, foul mouthed, generous and kind.
The loves of her life were her husband Mike, her kids, Amy Seyller (Duffy) and Nick Lemon (Shannon), her grandkids: Evan, Connor, Riley, Jack, Gabriel, Annabelle, Scarlett and Jenna. Right behind her family was her deep love of Dr. Pepper, purses, QVC, Hallmark Christmas movies and lobster.
Horse’s ass was her favorite term of endearment. She hated cats, but loved her grandcats, Sneaks and Tally. She made a divine taco salad, but hated to cook.
Brenda was loyal, loved hard, and grieved the loss of her loved ones even harder. We are at peace knowing she is being welcomed to heaven by the loving, open, arms of those who went before her.
Brenda smoked until the day she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2011. While she craved cigarettes every day, she never had another. She hated wearing oxygen 24/7 and lost a lot of living because of it. If you smoke, she would want you to quit today, before it’s too late, and save yourself and your family the agony. Don’t be a horse’s ass.
We love her so very much, we are relieved that she is not in pain any longer and we will miss her every single day.
We are honoring Brenda’s wishes for no immediate memorial service, but we may throw a party for her in the future and you are all invited. She did love surprises.
